A series of streetcar shade structures were proposed as part of a Streetcar project for the City of Tempe, Arizona. The proposed shading structures would harness solar energy  and respond to their respective contexts, mirroring and celebrating aspects of neighborhood history, culture and native ecology. The design for these structures are part of a larger design guideline document currently being worked on for Tempe’s Valley Metro Rail (METRO).
